Crowne Plaza Porto by IHG

I recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza and had an outstanding experience, especially when it came to managing dietary requirements and food allergies. As someone with specific dietary needs, I often find it difficult to feel completely comfortable at hotels, but the staff at Crowne Plaza went above and beyond to ensure I had a safe and enjoyable stay. A special thank you to Sara from the food department. She was absolutely incredible! From the moment I arrived, she was incredibly kind, attentive, and demonstrated a level of professionalism that truly stood out. Sara took the time to understand my dietary restrictions and made sure every meal I had was tailored to my needs. I can’t stress enough how much peace of mind she gave me throughout my stay. It’s rare to find someone as dedicated and thoughtful as Sara, and she made my experience at Crowne Plaza that much more memorable. I also want to mention Pedro, the new manager, who was equally fantastic. His leadership and commitment to guest satisfaction were evident in every interaction. Pedro made sure that all my needs were met and was always checking in to ensure I was comfortable. If you have dietary requirements or allergies, I highly recommend staying at Crowne Plaza. With staff like Sara and Pedro, you can trust that they will take excellent care of you, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.

Very professional and helpful check in manager, offered a glass of Porto, sorted out the issue of my Land Rover Defender not fitting into the underground car park. Rooms are perfect. Nice sound proofing. Windows can be partially opened for fresh air. The best part is the access to the Holmes gym (about 5 minutes walk) which has a great pool for laps and plenty of fitness machines. Big plus! Breakfast was excellent. I booked the club room but there is no breakfast in the club lounge (on the ground floor) - instead one gets the main breakfast included in the room rate. It was however nice to be on the Club floor (higher). I would highly recommend staying in this property in Porto.

One of the best hotel stays we’ve ever had and we are well travelled around the globe. The rooms are well equipped, clean and the beds and bedding are so comfortable and luxurious. David at reception was an absolute gem. He was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. He really made our trip. All of the other staff were super also including the door men who were so efficient. The manager at the breakfast desk was not friendly (a little rude/abrupt) plus the breakfast itself is lacking for the price so for that reason I’m dropping one star.
