Everything about this place is excellent. During my 4 night stay there, I felt like home. The level of cleanliness and the state of the building was unbelievably brilliant. Added to the satisfaction level was the friendly and courteous behaviour from the staff. The preparation of food, it's presentation and serving was beautiful, just more than excellent! Check-in, Check-out and everything in between was managed in a very professional way yet there was a touch of warmth. There is no way I will stay at another place than this if I am in the city again.
Spacious rooms, service is excellent, breakfast is amazing. Very friendly staff and helpful, as location is not quite good, but is in a very quiet area, taking Didi or scouter within 10 mins you're in the center of Qidong.
My husband and I signed a long-term stay lease for 8 months at this hotel that is supposed to be a 5-star hotel. We regretted it very much. To summarize our experiences, 1) There were only 3 tiny air-conditioners that vent towards walls inside our 100 sqm executive suite room. The living area was 28 degree celsius when temperature was set to 16. Outside temperature was also 28 degree celsius. A staff from Engineering department came, pressed a few buttons and temperature went down to 25 almost immediately. 2) There were NO windows inside the bedroom. 3) Not sure about the other stacks, in the ##01 stack, bathroom had only an air-conditioner at the vanity area. Hence, it could be hugely freezing during the winter months. There were 2 windows inside the shower that are not even sealing tight enough to keep out the winds. It took the hotel a month to repair it. 3) Carpet inside the bedroom is filthy. We were needing to vacuum it ourselves every night before bed and replace the dust bag every month. 4) Food variety served at the VIP lounge appeared to be wide and good tasting during our trial stay (self-paying). We decided to pay them 200 SGD more (over and on top of the 3000 SGD) every month for only weekend accesses, which we hardly use thereafter because everything good disappeared. Food wise, you could see fried salmon bones instead of salmon. This is just how bad it was. Because we accumulated a lot of reward points, we were given access to the lounge everyday without needing to pay after a few months of stay. Despite this, hotel continued to charge us 200 SGD more every month without negotiation. 5) We were eager to move out but continued our stay because of the contract. Up until the last few days of our lease, we had few items left in the room and the hotel did the most unthinkable - They cleared our items and reinstated the room to how it was before our stay. The room was cleared out and made ready for the next guest BEFORE our contract expired. We didn’t know a hotel could do such a thing, more so for a 5-star IHG hotel. We hold evidences of the contractual breach and dated videos of the room before and after but we are just too exhausted to even approach a law firm to settle it. We find this corporate behavior to be appalling and a complete disgrace to an otherwise culturally respectful country - China. Stay away.
