Very poor service/staff attitudes. Great views We stayed 6 nights after Chinese New Year. The hotel is very new and many of the staff appeared to have little experience or training. It began when we arrived at 3pm and the room was not ready. The cleaning staff and front desk did not communicate well and sent us away for 10 minutes and back and forth from the lobby to the room. We were told to enter the just mopped room and wait for the wet floor to dry. The stay continued to be unpleasant as every type of staff encounter during our one week stay - from front house to restaurant to housekeeping - was marred by: - Lack of civility and basic courtesy - eg manners such as greeting guests or giving way to prams or struggling elderly were never to be seen. Guests had to make way for staff in the main buffet. - Frequently seen bored and inattentive attitude - too many examples to give. Outride rudeness at times. - No capacity to help with booking for the top floor restaurant /no concierge services - Other Chinese guests in common areas also commented about the poor service. We have had better experiences at 3 star motels so I can only give this Crown a 2/5. For a new hotel the facilities are nearly new but there were obvious premature aging issues to the build quality - grout loose in bathrooms and lobby toilet tiles …. You get the idea Go for the sea views. Just don’t expect too much from hotel staff.
