I recently stayed at the Curtiss Hotel in downtown Buffalo and had a truly impressive experience. Room 606 was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed. Property & Amenities: This hotel is hi-tech, ultra-modern, and truly lives up to a 5-star standard. From smart room controls to luxury finishes, everything feels thoughtfully designed. The spa, gym, rooftop lounge, and breakfast were all exceptional—clean, well-managed, and offered an elevated experience. Service & Loyalty Recognition: While the overall service was good, I was disappointed that my Choice Privileges Diamond Elite status was not acknowledged at check-in or during my stay. A warm welcome and recognition for elite members would make loyal guests feel more valued and appreciated. Location: The hotel’s location in the heart of downtown Buffalo is unbeatable—walking distance to restaurants, entertainment, and key city attractions. Suggestions for Improvement: • Greet and recognize Choice Elite members at check-in. • Offer loyalty perks or a welcome note for Diamond Elite guests. • Ensure staff is aware of elite status and associated benefits. Despite this, I highly recommend Curtiss Hotel for its luxury, amenities, and location. I’ll definitely be returning

This is a great hotel. Easy to get to in the city. The staff was very friendly, responsive, and helpful. Top notch amenities. Both bed and pillows were comfy. In short, we were impressed and I can't say enough words to describe how happy we were with our stay.

I don’t understand how this hotel can bill itself as a five star property. Overall, the level of service was poor and there was no attention to detail. The hotel strikes me as mismanaged because the experience was lacking at every turn. The exterior, lobby, and bar appear upscale but that’s the end of anything that was nice about our stay. The front desk staff were lukewarm at best when we arrived. There is a complimentary valet and the staff there do work hard to bring vehicles out quickly. However, every time they took my truck it came back covered in bird poop. There are no bell staff and my wife and I hauled our bags and our baby’s stuff to our room ourselves on a rickety old bag cart we found out front. I don’t mind doing this but it’s not at all what I expected at this price point. The room was dark and dingy. It was oddly laid out with an elongated floor plan that wasted a lot of space, leaving little room to get comfortable once our stuff was in there. There is a mini bar in the room, but the drinks and snacks are exorbitantly expensive, for example eight dollars for a small jar of gummy bears that looked like it was refilled from a larger bag and not even presented in an unopened package. You cannot access ice for yourself and have to wait for someone to bring it up to the room, after which it arrives in an ice pail that does not have a plastic bag in it. The housekeeping staff were exceptionally nice, but our bed was frequently half made and messy. The linens themselves were stiff and uncomfortable. There was no fitted sheet, so if you pulled up the wrong sheet you ended up exposing the bare mattress. The toilets have bidets but the dryer feature on the bidet smelled so bad we never used it after the first time. The towels in the bathroom left a sticky film on you after drying off. The on site restaurant Chez Ami was not very good. Lunch was so-so and the complimentary breakfast was very plain. The urban hot spring has a nice large hot tub but the area around it was dirty and there were only three deck chairs to use. We ended up spending as little time in the hotel as possible because we just weren’t comfortable there. I have honestly had better service at three star properties. Don’t waste your money.
