We stayed at Côte Sable for the first leg of our honeymoon and loved every minute. The staff were so polite and generous. We felt very welcomed. The hotel was so peaceful and helped us relax after a busy wedding weekend and long travel day. We can’t wait to come back!
Stayed for two nights and while it wasn’t a complete disaster, the way management handled multiple issues made it an experience I wouldn’t repeat. The first night I got into bed, there was sand in the sheets that wasn’t mine. Earlier that same evening, I came back from dinner to find water all over the floor from a leaking AC. The front desk was kind and brought a bucket to catch the drip, but nothing could be fixed until morning—so I slept through it. The next day when I asked about compensation, I was told the manager would follow up. I had to ask again, and when we finally spoke, he said it was the first he was hearing of it and needed time to think about it. On my last day, I’d booked the hammam and massage package. No one was at the spa when I arrived, and after waiting 15 minutes, someone finally appeared and told me to grab my robe and slippers from my room. The “hammam” turned out to be just a small steam room—no cleansing ritual, no products, no guidance. They may not be the only place doing this, but calling it a hammam is misleading when it’s just steam. The Jacuzzi looked neglected and unused. I ended up canceling the massage altogether. After multiple conversations, they eventually offered 10% off (€30 per night). A small gesture, but it didn’t match the experience. I wanted to like this place more, but for what you’re paying versus what you’re getting, I wouldn’t recommend it—and I wouldn’t stay here again.
We didn’t stay here, we just had food and drinks. The service was shockingly bad - slow and surly. The food was atrocious - I wouldn’t serve it to my dog. The fries were almost raw, the unappetising club sandwich was soggy with cheap turkey. I don’t even know how to describe the illustrated tartine. An unmitigated disaster of a restaurant and a shame on Cap Ferret. Don’t spoil your vacances with a visit here.
