It should be 7 stars resort. Very unique with personal service to us guests. Loved the area, the mountains with the sea color, the seriene calmness of the place is magical as if you are living in a dream and you don't want to wake up from it. This is the life! I read in one of the reviews you will be accepting pets soon...please don't. You will loose the magic then.
If you value your dignity, safety, and belongings — AVOID D Maris Bay at all costs!! We paid almost $10,000 for three nights at D Maris Bay, and in return, we had our belongings stolen and were humiliated by management. On our first day, my 100Capri linen dress worth almost $1,000 got stolen within exactly two hours in the silent beach while I was having lunch at La Guerite. I had clear proof the dress was hanging under the beach umbrella, but when I reported it, the receptionist simply dismissed me with, “It’s not found, there’s no dress.” No investigation, no follow-up, nothing. I decided not to ruin my trip, but I should have realized then how unsafe this place was. To make matters worse, I just checked google reviews and another guest’s review here says her diamond necklace was stolen, in her case the police got involved. I’m certain her experience was even more traumatic than ours. The most traumatizing and worst part was after checkout‼️with all our luggage already in the car and us sitting inside ready to leave for our flight, management forced us to get out of our car and persisted in treating us like criminals. They accused us of stealing a (Dyson hair dryer) we never even knew was in the room! when we had already shown them we travel with our own far more expensive Dyson hair dryer. All of a sudden, 10 management and security staff came to us and opened every single bag in the driveway, including my smallest handbag that couldn’t even fit an iPhone, then delayed our departure by 25 minutes while taking all our bags to security for a full inspection “which should’ve been done before putting all our bags n the car”. Of course, they found nothing! yet not a single apology was offered. The way they went through our personal belongings felt invasive and degrading, as if the staff and hotel manager lady were trained to handle criminals and had experience working in a prison — not running a luxury resort for high-end guests. And that’s not to mention; the very poor room service and cleaning, a bad smell from the sink, a dead moth on our bathroom mirror that remained during our stay, a terrible mattress, the carpet in the hallways that smelled awful and had no proper lighting, cheap, neglected facilities and an extremely poor behavior from D Maria Bay’s own waiters and staff. The only positive service came from the independent restaurants like Aurora and Zuma, where the staff were genuinely kind, friendly, and professional. Between belongings being stolen, guests being falsely accused, and the utter lack of professionalism from management, D Maris Bay is unsafe, unhygienic, and grossly mismanaged. They accused us over a cheap appliance while my expensive dress was stolen under their watch.
We have stayed at D Maria Bay in Marmaris, Turkey, for six consecutive years, but this has undoubtedly been the worst trip we’ve ever had. During our stay, a diamond necklace was stolen. After reporting the incident, a case was opened with the police. However, a day later, nothing had been done. Instead of addressing the issue properly, the hotel shifted suspicion toward our own cousins. Shockingly, a 15-year-old family member and a 18 hear old were forced to write statements to the police after being told so by staff. This situation was extremely distressing and completely ruined the last two days of our holiday. Despite everything, we received no support or compensation from the hotel. We eventually decided to close the case ourselves just to calm down, as the entire experience — and the way the hotel team handled it — was incredibly frustrating, unprofessional, and frankly, useless. In addition to this serious incident, the general service at the hotel was terrible. The sinks hardly worked, and the silicone was coming off, giving the bathrooms a shockingly unprofessional and neglected appearance. After seven years of loyalty, I deeply regret spending even a single cent at this hotel. Awful experience overall.
