Visiting DACO Hotel in Siem Reap felt like discovering a quietly refined sanctuary where genuine hospitality meets clean comfort and thoughtful service.The moment I arrived, I sensed sincere warmth—welcome drinks, a smooth check‑in, and staff who seemed always ready to assist with tuk‑tuk bookings or temple tips. Their kindness felt personal and genuine.
It’s a smaller hotel a little off the main area. The pool is lovely but small and cocktails and a limited menu is available. Room was spacious and clean with a balcony overlooking the pool.
This hotel could really be perfect but... super noisy machinery noise the whole night. Like a constant mumbling of bass out of a completely quiet environment at night which make the noise disturbing. Completely understaffed : often only one reception for 200 guests! This hotel is poorly managed, and when they are two, anyway one doesn't speaks english and the other speak little English only. Very rude and unprofessional staff : general manager made an effort but he is not the one responding most of the time. Instead you have a young, unexperienced student that will look at guests like funny person (mocking them) which is so unprofessional. Seems the owner just want to make as much money as possible with as less staff as possible. Also, pretend to be a standing hotel but you can expect only bad service : Asked the room to be cleaned, "ok sir will clean", 6 hours later it wasn't cleaned, and others clients had the same case. You will however see the entire cleaning team laughing and watching funny videos in their local. Maybe it's their break time, it is ok, just don't say you will clean it, say a time, like it happen in cheaper hotels. 6 hours is too long. (They would have forgotten if I didn't insist 5 hours later). Some ultra horrible service story happened too but will stop there : i won't advice This place. You have cheaper and more quiet option than machine bass in more central place of siem raep. Don't be fooled by the apparent "chic with swimming pool" of the hotel.
