Oh, Dakota... how I miss you. On an epic trip with my friend to Edinburgh, we chose to stay because of the promise of comfy beds and easy transportation access. It. Was. Awesome. The staff were always ready to greet us, advise us, and Chloe was one who was always excited to celebrate the fun outings and experiences we had on any particular day. The restaurant is top notch, my bed was a cloud, and the Queensferry area is THE PRETTIEST PLACE! Also, they have those rainfall shower heads, so I felt like an Amazon Rainforest goddess. I will be recommending the Dakota to anyone traveling to Edinburgh. One bus ride takes you from the hotel to the heart of Princes Street. And then, when you've had enough of the tourism chaos, you can jump back on the bus and find comfort, refuge, and a bloody-good cocktail. Job well done, Dakota staff!
No problem finding this hotel just look for the big black box. The decor inside is also very dark. Rooms clean and comfortable. Had an excellent meal in the restaurant with very attentive and friendly waiting staff. Breakfast choice of food could have been better - no croissants! Service was also a little slow with having waited a long time to order we had to call a waitress over.
Good Morning, I wanted to raise a couple of concerns to you regarding our stay. My wife initially queried why last night was £188 yet why tonight is circa £360. Whilst I appreciate there is a local concert amongst other things in Edinburgh tonight, we feel this is extortion and really unfair on your customer base. Upon arrival the TV didn’t work, this was reported and it took circa an hour for someone to come and reset it from the front desk and visit the room to again, make sure it worked. The Sky TV system you are operating is about 30 years old, nostalgic but very outdated. Not only this, we also run a hospitality business and I can honestly say these are the cheapest, most uncomfortable mattresses I’ve ever laid on. Both of us have woken up with bad backs, sore heads etc - cheap bedding, terrible nights sleep, complete lack of sleep. The lobby is nice and the visual appearance of the room is okay, not good value for money and I believe you need to get some of these things addressed. I’d recommend you address these things to prevent further bad reviews. We will share our feedback online now. Regards, Guests at Room 101
