Dale Hill Hotel & Golf Club

Spent two nights and played The Woosnam on Sunday and Tuesday with the Old Course in between. Consistent greens, some challenging holes on both courses but really enjoyed it. Breakfast buffet was great and the evening meal excellent. Staff friendly and welcoming. Not overly keen on supplying enough loo roll though.

The hotel is very pleasant in beautiful surroundings. We stayed in the Pashley Suite and it was lovely especially the fantastic bathroom and very comfortable bed. One of the hotels strengths is its very friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. The food was wonderful both the buffet breakfast which we really enjoyed and the evening meals full of flavour and beautifully presented. The only downside was the noisy golfers who seemed to be having big celebrations and although aware it is a golf club we felt there was opportunity for them to dine in one of the function rooms thereby giving hotel guests a quieter dining experience. We were also disappointed with the swimming pool which was very shallow and seemed to mainly cater for local kids groups. Overall I would recommend his hotel for the above mentioned qualities.

The whole hotel is very dated. Rooms are dirty, we had spiders in ours, and so much mess under the bed. Barely any toiletries and no air con. Breakfast was terrible, the fruit was all from tins, the bacon was so salty and with an hour left, there was barely anything left and nothing was being topped up. We also were the only table who weren’t offered tea and coffee, or even water as we sat down. The drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are nice but that’s the only nice thing I can say
