We stayed there 3-4 years ago, the place was beautiful and in beautiful surroundings, the food was amazing, the room was clean and the service and staff were kind and helpful!
Was on a 3 day business trip here and the vegan food was quite strange. Dinner day one was mashed potatoes with tomato sauce. Day two it was whole potatoes with tomato sauce for lunch. For dinner it was potatoes with beetroot. Seems that the chef really like cooking potatoes with something red on the side.
Our stay at Danabu was not at a boutique hotell as expected, it was more like a average 3 star hotell. The standard suite was like a family room, but the bathroom was wery small and the ventilation was poor. The bar looked like a cafe, and so did the restaurant. The food was below average, the vaitors had no clue how to do their work, althoug there were one or two staff members who did their best. Almost 5000 nok for one night is way to much, and Danebu is not on the list of hotell we will return to. Sorry..
