Dar Ben Gacem

We had a wonderful stay at Dar Ben Gacem earlier this spring. The Dar is beautifully decorated and located in the heart of the medina with easy access to several sites and delicious breakfast served daily. The team was so friendly and helpful and made sure our visit was special. A particular highlight was doing a cooking class with Chef Youssef! The class began with a visit to the market to pick out fresh ingredients. Then we returned to the Dar and learned how to cook three delicious dishes - mechouia salad, brik, and Tunisian couscous with fish. We learned so much and had a great time chatting with Chef Youssef and the team - I definitely recommend and hope we can return soon.

Very central hotel in the Medina of Tunis. All central locations are at walking distance so perfect for those who want to explore. The rooms are vintage, charming, traditional. Breakfast was varied and included also omelette. Here I had one of the best ricottas of my life! Giving 4 instead of 5 because at parity, other properties stood out more.

Booking this Dar because of good reviews. But regret as alll heaters in the room was not working. It was really cold and couldn't sleep. Informed receptionists few times, but they didn't take it seriously. After following up few times, then in the late night only, the answer was sorry, technician only available the next day to repair it, all rooms were full.
