Beautiful riad. High price. Location at edge of Medina could be an advantage if you have hired a guide who arrives by car and needs parking. A/C in room was weak and turned off during the night so you need to turn it on again several times. Bathroom door scraped and got stuck on the floor (wood expansion) so hopefully they’ll catch that. Set breakfast was all sugar (pastries, bread) and dairy but we were able to ask for egg omelet.

We booked 2 rooms but one of the rooms had 2 twins rather than a king so we asked for a different room. The rooms smelled like a sewer so we left the windows open which helped but we closed the windows while we were out to dinner and when we returned, the smell was back. It was weird bc the sewer smell was not coming from the bathroom. They gave us some oil and tea light but that smell was too strong. We decided to just put up with the sewer. The final morning, we asked what time bfast would start and they said 7 am. We got downstairs at 7 am and nobody was there. We waited until 7:30 before any breakfast was served. Our driver had to wait half hour. It was frustrating bc it was so difficult getting the kids ready by 7 am only to have to wait half hour for the staff. If it weren’t for these 2 things, it would have been fine.

Cons: Room was very hot and AC didn’t work. The wifi on floor 3 was so bad it was better to not even use it, which I find disappointing from a luxury hotel. I also really did not like the food from dinner at the hotel - drinks were very watery and the salmon was not tasty. Pros: The breakfast was decent. The service and people are really nice. The spa is also very nice, I had a great massage there. The riad itself is also beautiful.
