Das Edelweiss Salzburg Mountain Resort

We had a pleasant stay at this resort. Outdoor pool area is lovely with gorgeous views and our child really enjoyed the water slides. Pool service was excellent. But over all the experience is a bit lacking and overpriced. 800 euro / night will get you a room with a view to a parking garage roof. Hotel hallways look like hospital with very basic decor. Food was good, but nothing memorable. Lobby is huge, but not cozy. Design is a bit all over the place. Smoking in the wellness areas should be forbidden, especially by the family pool. We had to leave twice because some guy was smoking a cigar (which also takes a while). In summary: don’t regret visiting, will not be coming back.

We’d like to start by thanking the team for their time and efforts. The hotel itself is beautiful, the service was warm and welcoming, and the facilities like the pool and gym were excellent — truly top-notch. That said, we had two major challenges during our stay that left us quite disappointed: 1. Lack of Information & Communication: Throughout our stay, we asked multiple times (at least five) for information about the hotel activities — including kids’ classes and Sky options. We provided our email several times, hoping to receive the weekly schedule, but only received it on our last day, after three days of waiting. Unfortunately, this meant we missed out on many of the kids’ and adults’ activities we were looking forward to. It was a real letdown, especially when traveling as a family and hoping to make the most of the stay. 2. Pricing Transparency: We paid €1700 for one night on a half-board basis for a family room. While we appreciated the quality of the room and food, this price felt extremely high, especially during the off-season. It left us with the impression that we had significantly overpaid, and it really impacted how we felt about the overall value of the stay. We truly believe this hotel has a lot of potential, and we hope management can improve communication with guests and ensure pricing better reflects the season and experience offered. That said, we left feeling quite disappointed — not because the hotel wasn’t nice, but because we felt we had significantly overpaid. It’s not a good feeling to walk away from a holiday questioning the value of what we spent, especially as a family trying to create meaningful memories.

This is nice hotel but with a lot of mistakes. First impression was in garage, there is check in service but we waited 15 minutes and no one came. Than we parked a car and bring luggage ourselves. On the reception was problem with reservation and after 30 minutes they found reservation. After that we had problems in the room. Broken toilet seat, broken windows blinds, problems with TV - it turned on by itself several times a night, when we came TV was unplugged from AC than it was the reason and long time problem. Food quality was generally good but again with some fatal fails like "not fresh" beef tartar. We had two portion, one was fresh and second was dry (with totaly dry egg), dark, old. This portion has obviously been waiting for a customer for hours. Absolutely disgusting and dangerous. You can find nice pools and saunas with adult zones in the hotel. It is really good. But we ordered spa treatments for almost 1000EUR (for two) and it was one of the worst experiences from similar hotels. My therapist, she was without any energy, no interest, just another annoying day at work. And it was very noticeable. I was looking forward to it being over. To be honest, I'm very sorry about this review, because the hotel has great potential, but with what we experienced there, I simply can't give more. Especially since we had one of the best (most expensive) rooms on offer. Never again.
