The staff was extremely professional. They were able to assist us with any questions and requests we had with thought and kindness. Arguably one of the best staff we have ever had for a hotel. Shout out to Holly, Uwe, and Anton. The location is prime since it is on the East side of the lake, very elevated, so you get every sunset there. Absolutely breathtaking sunset. All rooms are not created equal. We were fortunate to stay in the "Alpen Chalets". Could not have asked for a better room and view of the lake. Will 100% stay in the Alpen Chalets again. The facilities are prime. Top notch spa with the spa staff being very kind and helpful as well. The hotel offers bike rentals, which we used for a day ride around the lake. I recommend renting their E bikes since the hills are not made for rookie bike riders like myself, who rented a mountain bike. So beware of that. The breakfast was fantastic. Great variety and quality. We had dinner at the restaurant 3 times and you will get your value for what you pay. I absolutely recommend it. There are hiking paths directly around the hotel, so if you are into hiking, your experience becomes much easier. There are two main paths to get to the hotel, one of the main road, and one is a side walking path that you take just to the train station. Both are steep incline walking, so be cautious. But the incline is not that far. Overall, we definitely plan on coming back. The experience was that memorable.
We spent two lovely nights at Tegernsee. The service was great, but one could tell that some staff are the true experts and some are rather fresh. Nothing bad about that, everybody has to start somewhere and learn. Spa was nice and not overcrowded (I had two Sauna sessions in the big Panorama Sauna just by myself followed by a great massage). If I want to critise, I was missing a cold plunge to make the experience picture perfect. I cannot confirm the many negative reviews here. Breakfast was great and dinner at restaurant was okay. There are better options down in the village. Staff was always friendly and attentive. The location and views are stunning and we always got great tables in the restaurant and sunbeds in the Spa. My only complaint are the rooms. Our room was just a bit too small for that price and there was no air conditioning. Also too many people smoking on balconies or even in the restaurant terrace during breakfast & dinner. All in all a solid stay, but somewhat on the overpriced side (especially the room, a bit the dinner, 20€ for the breakfast is a great deal on the other hand). I guess that's what the village & clientele bring with them.
Overall a lovely hotel with breathtaking view of the lake. A little expensive taking into account there is no air conditioning and the bathroom shower head was broken. The staff does not seem to know the region well and overall the service is lacking and rather cold. Very warm massage room on a hot summer day, massage therapist was not experienced , although spa facilities are excelent.
