We had a wonderful stay here! Location is great for Thorpe park and Lego land. The estate itself is massive and BEAUTIFUL. It’s got the wow factor when you drive in for sure. Loads of facilities. Pool, indoor and outdoor gym, kids play areas, free parking and plenty of it, well maintained and beautiful grounds for walking. Staff are really genuinely lovely and so helpful, patient and polite. Even found me a torch in the middle of the night when there was a temporary lost phone situation. Free haribos for the kids and free drinks available 24 hours as well as a 24 hour shop. Breakfast is great and included. One of the best hotel breakfasts ever, proper juices and everything well cooked. Noise from the planes can be very loud, they did wake me up each morning but I sleep with the window open so can’t complain about that, and the beds are quite hard. Personal preference but I would bring my own mattress topper next time. AC should be put in the rooms so we could keep windows shut. Still not enough to minus a star, we had a 5 star stay all round and will definitely return here. If they added AC it would be a massive upgrade though.
Stayed here on our recent visit to Lego Land Windsor, the site is very large and trying to find somewhere to park was interesting with vehicles being parked on the road to the top car parks. We had breakfast on both mornings of our stay and the food was fine, plenty of choice but was quite loud as seemed to be a conference on while we were visiting. The rooms were adequate however no A/C in the rooms dues to the age of the hotel and the single bed in our room was a single futon/foldout bed and was not very comfortable so my son and I shared the main bed. Staff were all friendly and the rooms were all clean and tidy.
Disappointing Stay That Didn’t Match the Price – Lovely Restaurant, But Let Down Elsewhere I recently stayed at De Vere Beaumont Hotel as part of a wedding party and was quite disappointed with the overall experience, especially given the £260 per night price tag. While the setting and grounds are lovely, the quality of the accommodation did not match the cost. Our room was surprisingly small – barely enough space for two adults to move around comfortably. It was also extremely hot and stuffy, making it difficult to sleep. There’s no air conditioning, and the fan provided was both noisy and ineffective. Additionally, the bedroom blind was broken, letting in unwanted light and making it hard to get any proper rest. To add to that, the bathroom light didn’t work – a basic issue that really should have been addressed before guests arrived. Unfortunately, the service at reception also fell short. Staff were unable to advise wedding guests on where the ceremony was being held, and in the morning, when we asked where we could get a coffee, we were directed to the bar – which turned out to be closed at that time. The one bright spot of our stay was the restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service was warm and professional. Despite the hotel being fully booked, the team managed to accommodate our group without a reservation, which we really appreciated. Overall, the hospitality and amenities fell far below expectations for the price. I hope the hotel can take this feedback on board to improve the guest experience, as it has potential – but currently, the value just isn't there.
