Decharme Hotel

Fantastic location for old town Chiang Mai. The rooms are clean and large, the infamous toilet where you have to have one foot in the shower is correct but not an issue. Bed is rock hard, really the hardest bed we've ever slept on. Breakfast is basic but fine, coffee machine delivers great coffee. Staff are extremely polite and efficient. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay in the old town area.

This hotel will suit many people. The rooms are decent, the service is decent, the pool is nice but... be aware, they don't have beer, wine or g&t. You can get a cocktail by the pool until 4:30pm; really? Very strange for any hotel. We're here on holiday! You need to go out for food or alcohol ( unless you bring some in). Very odd, it didn't suit us at all. And now I'm going to update my review and give another star. After checkout, we were able to stay by the pool with our luggage and swim and shower while passing time before our rail journey. It was very relaxing and a nice facility to have on our travels and deserving of another star.

Excellent location …but noisy at night on the road side rooms. Very bad housekeeping service (one day they leave toilet paper, other day they forget, same with soap and amenities). Water in the shower is one minute hot, one minute freezing cold. You have to shower in lapses… Breakfast is so, so (cold pancakes, no butter only lousy taste margarine, no Yoghurt, no danish rolls or sweet bread, only white bread and that’s it). It is very clear that the manager or supervisor in general is not doing his/her job very well, and that the owners just think in profits not in giving a good service. It’s a shame because it could be a better hotel.
