Defereggental Hotel & Resort

Charming hotel in the Alps with an attractive Porsche 911 driving experience. Highly recommended

I picked this hotel because I had stayed at it's sister hotel Carossa on Mallorca. They had a brochure about the Defereggental hotel and the fact that they had Porsche packages as well as e-bikes was something I knew my husband would like. The hotel didn't disappoint. Even though we did not get the Porsche package, my husband had his own Porsche, and we ended up getting e-bikes at the 3rd hotel of the Hamacher hotel group, the Dolomite golf hotel, we really enjoyed the friendly staff, the great area and the wonderful weather. A great place to hike, a good starting point for the various Porsche routes that you can drive in your own car. We especially enjoyed the drive on the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse as well as a trip to Cortina D'Ampezzo over the Stallen Saller pass about 20 minutes from the hotel to get you into Italy. The only reason I gave the location only 4 stars is that it is about 20-25 minutes into the Defereggental and if you want to see a different area, it's a little bit of a drive. The staff was amazing. Patricia was our waitress for breakfast and dinner and she knew exactly what we wanted to drink and eat each day we were there. Our room was not really a room. It was actually 3 separate rooms. A living room with balcony downstairs, a bi8 bathroom to the left of the landing upstairs and a bedroom with balcony to the right of the landing. The view was amazing and each day we enjoyed seeing what innovative way they would have our down filled blankets laid out for us. We had 1 rainy day with snow just a bit higher up but the rest of the week was wonderful.

Excellent customer service and some of the best food around. Its surrounded by beautiful mountains and a well kept golf course. 100% will return.
