Beautiful entrance/lobby area. Room was basic, but very clean and comfortable given the room size. Staff was friendly and cordial. The terrace view on the top of the hotel was nice and open; your able to see Saint Peter's Basilica from the terrace. The breakfast provided is great with a good amount of choice of foods. The hotel itself is walking distance from most monuments and surrounded by many shops and great restaurants. A perfect place to stay if you wanna be near enough to most of Rome's historic sites.
One of the last remaining Italian hotels. Classic, traditional and authentic to the smallest detail. Such a joy to find a hotel true to the Italian culture despite so many others “renovating” and “updating” to the tacky business-modern-minimalist-IKEA image. If this hotel ever compromises their cultural integrity it will be regretful. Hopefully they value timeless over trendy. The only renovation should be to remove the carpet and return to original stone or tile. Everything else should remain untouched.
That was my first trip to Rome and I enjoyed a lot thanks to Hotel Dei Consoli. The rooms are getting cleaned every day. The stuff is very kind and helpful. Thank you Max and Veronica for their great efforts for our breakfast every day. The breakfast was very satisfying. Hotel is very close to Ottaviano metro station.
