Good value for money, close to the university, adjourning a nice park. Quiet place to stay, clean though old-fashioned rooms with separate bedrooms sporting a good bed and a clean bathroom with tub. Perfect wifi connection. Three water bottles in the room, and a coffee maker. The hotel unfortunately lacks an elevator. There are plenty of nice restaurants nearby. Friendly, young receptionist. I felt perfectly at home and can not relate to some of the negative reviews at all.
Old TVs, maybe 10-12 years old. Very dirty room, although it was supposed to be a deluxe with a sauna. Cleaning is simply terrible, a 0/5, not 1/5. They rarely changed the towels. The room smelled very stuffy and strange. They never made the bed, not once. They never changed the bed linens or pillow cases, ever. No new soap bar, after staying for 13 days. Very careless cleaning staff: 2 spiders in one bathroom, one was very large, and nobody even bothered to clean those cobwebs and spiders, which were very visible, unless you were totally blind. Dirty toilet bowl with stubborn fecal skid marks and stains that are very visible. Nasty and gross. As you can imagine, the sauna smelled bad and since everything else was so dirty, I never used it- not once. No vacuuming. It's just a nasty hotel with zero cleaning standards. Honestly, this is one of the dirtiest, if not the dirtiest hotel I have ever been in. This is definitely not a 4-star hotel, not by any stretch of the imagination. This is not even a good 3-star hotel. It may be considered a bad 3-star hotel or a normal 2-star hotel -maximum. That said, the receptionists were smiling and nice. Also, their restaurant, in the park, was barely "ok" and the location of the hotel is strategically good and close to the city center. Overall, I would never recommend this nasty hotel, at all.
We ate at the restaurant outside. Food was good when it eventually arrived. Service was exceptionally slow. We ordered as soon as we arrived, but we waited at least an hour for the first dish to arrive. The first was my partner’s pasta. Our child’s soup (which was too spicy for a child) and my potatoes arrived 15 minutes later, then my main 15 minutes after that. For the prices they charge, they should be much better. It was an unpleasant experience on an otherwise beautiful day.
