Delta by Marriott The Nottingham Belfry

We stayed in the Stephenson Suite on Saturday night. The room was very spacious with a double bed in one room and a sofa bed in the other room. The sofa bed was comfortable, but not recommended for a long stay. The aircon was not working, but luckily it was not needed as the heatwave had ended the day before. There was a fan in the cupboard if needed. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was very nice with friendly staff. Overall a good hotel and would recommend.

The hotel, although in a convenient location, and very nice at a glance, did have some issues. The room wasn't completely clean, with dirty tiles in the bathroom and stained carpet. The blind also did not work properly. Although these are minor things, the price you pay you would expect these to be sorted. The peephole was also fixed upside down, which although small, did feel like an invasion of privacy. The swimming pool area felt very unclean and dirty with the floor turning green in some areas, presumably from the water? I'd like to hope I am wrong. We didn't eat or drink there, although the bar and restaurant space was very nice and well presented, as was the room at a glance. All in all, the hotel did the job, however was not value for money due to the many issues across the hotel. Probably would not return. A shame as it has potential

Good news first - Clean, pleasant and modern. Decent bar. Very friendly staff. Great EV chargers (see below) Bad news - comically understaffed by owners on the Sunday I stayed. Be nicer to your staff, Q Hotels. And the room walls are very, very thin. Travel tip: the Roam EV charging bays were very reasonably priced, usable without yet another app, and don't have an overstay charge, so you can leave the car plugged in overnight.
