Lovely stay. The staff are welcoming and professional. The rooms are large and well equipped. The only issue was with the shower, they should change the doors. Water leaks everywhere onto the floor and it can be slippery when you get out as the water goes everywhere. The club lounge has a great presentation in the evening with some hot dishes and salads...enough for a dinner. Overall we had a great stay and are due to return on Saturday.
This hotel is a fairly easy trip from LHR. I chose public bus from the airport and then a five minute walk to the property itself. To get to London, there is a train station a short car ride away which was around seven pounds a trip. The station is served by the newer Elizabeth line, which was super clean and comfortable. It's odd that the hotel forces a one-way ring road around the property for vehicles...if you are able to walk to the road to pick up ride-share or taxi it will probable save you half the time for the total trip. The rooms were typical for the area. Not large, but comfortable. The air conditioning thermostat may have just been for looks, since the room was often very warm. I mentioned it to the staff at reception, but there was no change over my four day stay. The executive lounge is a great feature, and has a nice selection of chef's choice bites daily in the evening. The presentation was different for each day I visited. There is also a happy hour in the executive lounge daily, which I appreciated. I was surprised that the hotel didn't take the opportunity to feature some more local beers, with the selection limited to Budweiser and Heineken product, along with some wine and soft drink selections. The hotel bar was just OK. It was as overpriced as you'd expect a hotel bar to be (there's a small market within walking distance if you prefer that option), and on my visit it was so busy with a tour group that I couldn't get any service. Breakfast was a massive buffet, and included the option for eggs of any style with a made to order area. Service at breakfast was terrific, even with a large number of diners. The hotel was happy to hold my bags at checkout so I could visit the city once more without worrying about finding a locker or toting them on the train.
Great location, really friendly and approachable staff, very clean, beds and pillows very comfortable, water and plenty of hot drink options provided in the room. Room was a little hot, even with the air-conditioning turned to lowest temperature and fan on highest setting. Would have been good to be able to get a little fresh air in the room. But on balance it's a good hotel in a great location with attentive and responsive staff.
