Honestly, I have absolutely nothing to complain about with this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed warmly. The reception staff were incredibly kind and helpful, recommending us places to visit in the city, parking options, and many other things we asked about. We spent quite some time asking them questions, and they patiently answered all of them. The rooms were spotless, very spacious, and the beds were super comfortable. The cleanliness was impeccable throughout our stay. The location was also great, with beautiful views of the city from the room, which made the experience even better. We rented two rooms for three people, and honestly, none of us had any complaints at all. Everything was just perfect, and we truly enjoyed our stay.
There was a bunch of delays at the airport, so the airline (which will also be getting a not stellar review) got everyone into different hotels. I wound up at this one with some family members, while one family member went to a different one. The staff and rooms were nice. When it came to complementary dinner, it was the most atrocious meal I’ve had since probably USA public school lunches. If I was a high ranking restaurant, I would be ashamed to have served that. And as a culinary worker, I would have never served that. It was all bland, beige starches and chocolate pudding so solid, it might as well have been a block. There were no vegetables, unless you count the tomato soup. And the beverage was a plastic cup of water. My friend and I ordered food off the menu, which was beautiful, but not actually the description of the meal. On the other hand, the family member that went to a different hotel got a lovely buffet and said it was delicious. I don’t understand how hotel with the same guest whom all got delayed got such different levels of service. This hotel’s breakfast was phenomenal and if they had served that for dinner or similar, they would have gotten five stars. TL;DR: if you get stuck here by an airline, don’t expect a good dinner. Demand to be put in a different hotel.
1. The location is GARBAGE. to get back to the main road sometimes takes 15-20 minutes, minimum 5 with no traffic. 2. There are no decent restaurants in the area, and the in-house restaurant is extremely overpriced. Its genuinely cheaper to pay for taxi fair to the mall or something, and eat there. 3. You cant swim in the pool without a swim cap. I'm not sure if this a local thing, but they sure are willing to sell you one for extra money. 4. The room service. First off, I was told ordering from the in-house restaurant was free. It is not free. They added a 10% charge. The first time I tried ordering room service, they never showed. After an hour, I called back and asked what was going on. They just kept giving excuses. I never got the room service that day. 5. I am paying 320 USD a night for this place. I expected better. I am disappointed in Marriott, and will not be staying here again. 6. The "kitchenette" is just a sink, microwave, and mini fridge. I thought that was standard across Marriott. Not ideal for long term stays. 7. The spa is extremely overpriced. 80 euro for a 50 minute massage is the cheapest they have. I went 10 minutes down the road and got one for a third the price. Save your money.
