Delta Hotels by Marriott Jacksonville Deerwood

Really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel’s been recently renovated—some reviews mentioned issues, but I didn’t notice anything off. It felt like staying at a full Marriott. Beds were comfortable, staff was friendly, and Brenda was especially great—super helpful and made my stay even better. Loved The Pantry for Marriott members (not a full lounge, but 24/7 snacks and drinks). Nice pool area. The gym was a standout—all new equipment, big space, and everything was clean and well set up. Great spot to get a real workout in. Breakfast was excellent—get the eggs, potatoes, and bacon combo. The potatoes were unreal. Croissant sandwich was solid too. Only downside: walls are thin, so you can hear some noise from neighbors or outside. Otherwise, great stay. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in Jacksonville.

This evening I dropped by the Delta Hotel at JTB and I-95 in Jacksonville, FL for a cocktail and dinner. Ryan, the bartender, was very responsive, friendly and welcoming making me feel right at home. After a quick review of my beverage preferences, Ryan suggested a delicious Old Fashioned, a version I had not tried before. I was not disappointed as in fact, it was yummy! At that point I was surveying the menu and my eyes landed on the Salmon. Once Ryan and I talked about my preferred temperature, I settled back to my beverage while chatting with Ryan about our past lives, etc. Soon the Salmon arrived, and much to my amazement, it was cooked perfectly! Frankly this was unexpected for a hotel restaurant, as this meal was every bit as delicious as fine dining restaurants which I have enjoyed in the area. So, as a result of this great experience, I felt compelled to share a 5 star review with anyone looking for a great location for a yummy dinner and drink while visiting Jacksonville, Florida. Kudos to the hotel management and staff to hire quality, service oriented and talented front line personnel. Many other hotels and restaurants should take notice of this special place, they have something magical in place. I will return to enjoy time visiting with Ryan at the bar and look forward to sampling other fine meals from the Chef and staff in the kitchen. Thanks again, Lee

I visit this hotel extremely often for work. Mike at the Front Desk is fantastic & helps w/everything!! Marco is always so welcoming and makes me feel like I’m coming home!! Ryan who works at the bar in the evenings, ALWAYS gets my food order right (it can be complicated), and he makes the end of the day lovely & easy!! The two ladies who work in the morning (I believe one is named Brenda, and I momentarily do not recall the name of the other woman), are cheerful and make getting my coffee and breakfast easy and a very good start to the day!! The service at this hotel is outstanding!! There are other people who are here who are equally fabulous, like Reggie in Maintenance, but I do not know everyones names. Thankfully, when I come, my room is always clean, my bed is always comfy, and like I said, if I need anything, Mike at the front desk is my go to person. If you’re traveling for business or pleasure, you should definitely check out this hotel!
