My first time in Canada and as we were passing through to Toronto decided to stay here. Beautiful building and excellent customer service. Everyone was very friendly and rooms were amazing. I accidentally dropped a makeup bottle in the bathroom that shattered and someone was there to clean it up within minutes. I would highly recommend staying here!
This is a great hotel for families. We stayed here for my daughter’s dance competition. The pool is nice. They have mini golf, basketball courts, and decent room service. It is valet parking which can sometimes take a while so make sure to order your car with plenty of notice. The Mother’s Day brunch is worth it! Rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. Staff are friendly. In room coffee is terrible and fridges are tiny which made our 4 day long stay challenging.
The Delta Hotels London Armouries is an egregious example of a genuine lack of care with the facilities, but the staff is courteous (even if some of their hearts are not fully in their job). The check-in process was smooth, and the valets were courteous and effective. However, we had to use the service elevator because one of the two elevators was not in working order. This was not an issue, and we were grateful to have another elevator available with our heavy luggage. Luggage carts were also available, and the valet kindly grabbed us one while we removed our bags from our vehicle. When we arrived in our room, we were a bit mortified. The beds, although dressed in clean linens, were extremely dusty and had food crumbs and LOTS of stains under the mattresses. We always check for bedbugs and (thank goodness!) did not see any. However, we took some wet wipes from our bags to clean the frames since there was enough dust that, upon sitting down, dust was falling on the pillows. Also, the bathroom's exhaust fan did not work, and the vent itself was clogged with dust and grime. The toilet paper roll holder was broken and falling out of the wall. The mini-refrigerator had stains inside of it and smelled atrociously, although it at least kept our snacks chilled. The shower had good water pressure, and the included shampoo, conditioner, and body gel were of good quality; the dispensers were fully filled. We did not have enough towels or wash cloths, so we called Housekeeping who took over two hours to bring up our towels (forgetting the wash cloths). When I approached the front desk about how dirty the surfaces of the room were (and how the exhaust fan did not work in the washroom), they offered to have Housekeeping come up to clean the room, but I told them that it was obvious that this was not their strong suit. We ended up cleaning/sprucing up the room ourselves so we could feel confident about the space's hygiene. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, but we had supper the evening of our arrival, and Michael, our waiter/bartender at the hotel's restaurant, was a highlight of the stay. He was gracious, gave wonderful information about what to do in London, Ontario and which areas to avoid due to higher crime rates. He was interesting to speak with and incredibly welcoming of us! :) The food was surprisingly good quality albeit incredibly expensive, and we enjoyed our dining experience. However, there are rather steep (maybe 15-20?) steps up to the restaurant/cafe, and one of our family members has mobility issues which made it difficult for them to go up and down these steps. Thankfully, there was a sturdy metallic railing. We may have missed an accessibility ramp, so that could be our mistake, but I did not see any accessible pathway up to the restaurant from the lobby upon first glance. We left the hotel earlier than initially expected but were incredibly grateful to be doing so because of how unkempt and downright dirty the facilities were. Again, there were glimmers of something special in this hotel (it was a wonderful piece of history to see the hotel built into an old brick armory), but, overall, the dated and grim state of the accommodations were ghastly. We would heavily encourage others to AVOID this establishment if you appreciate cleaner rooms and up-to-date accommodations!
