had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Delta Hotel in San José! From the moment I arrived, the service was top-notch. Alfredo Perón, the parking valet, was a total gem—super friendly and professional. He made sure my car was safe in their secure underground parking, which is locked and guarded. You can even access it later at night just by beeping—he and Francisco got it covered! The guest clerk, Dominik, was equally amazing—and gorgeous too! She greeted me with a warm smile and handled everything with such efficiency. I arrived early before my check-in time, and they happily held my bags so I could explore without any hassle. It’s the perfect spot to stay before or after a flight, especially with the airport so close. I lucked out timing-wise, arriving during an incredible festival at Parque Morazán and Parque Nacional. It was a huge music event with free concerts, delicious food stands, and cool trinkets for sale—such a vibrant atmosphere! The hotel’s location couldn’t have been better. There’s even a fun casino right next door if you’re feeling lucky. For cash, I found the nearby Lafise Bank ATM super convenient. Everything about this place screams five stars—great service, awesome staff like Alfredo and Dominik, and a prime location. I’ll definitely be back!

This hotel is in a great location. It is walking distance from the Central Market and pedestrian shopping areas, museums, and the National Theater. The lobby is beautifully renovated and the restaurant serves delicious local fare. The main highlight is bartender Daniel, at the La Palma bar! He was so welcoming and friendly. His passion for sharing the beauty of his country radiates out of him and he is easy to talk to and joke around with. We found him to be one of the friendliest people we met in a country that is full of kind and welcoming people. The breakfast offerings are wide-ranging and delicious. Fresh local fruit juice and fruits (such as granadillas and plantains), delicious baked goods, rice and beans, eggs, and more. The dinner menu offers local cuisine as well as pastas and other options. Everything tasted amazing. The hotel is in the process of renovating the rooms. We stayed in rooms on two different floors and found them to be fairly basic, like a typical 2.5-3 star hotel in the US. Clean, comfortable beds, functional bathrooms. I am not certain, but I think all of the rooms have a view overlooking the lovely Morazan Park. There was a slight musty smell in both of our rooms (Costa Rica is humid, after all!), but we didn’t find it to be too overwhelming or off-putting. That said, we overheard other guests who did find it to be disturbingly strong for their senses, so it probably depends on the person. Overall I recommend this hotel as a good jumping off point for a trip to Costa Rica! It’s conveniently located, the staff is friendly, and the building is nice.

What a terrible experience. I thought that by being a Marriot, it would have some basic standard but I was wrong. The rooms were dirty and very old. The toilets from other rooms being flushed nearby make a lot of noise during the night. The showers are old and look dirty. I feel more dirty after showering then before. Will never recommend this place.
