Demeures de campagne Parc du Coudray Mercure

My boyfriend and I did a staycation there this past weekend! Overall the experience was really pleasant. Let’s start with the pros: - location: super well located, only 35 mins away from Paris, in the middle of the forest which allowed us to truly reconnect with each other and in nature! And yet if you have a car, you’re still close to a few towns with some cute restaurants. - activities: the hotel has a TON of activities catered for everyone: couples, families with kids of all ages (atelier cocktail, kids club etc) - the golf court: so big and peaceful! We had a blast there - staff: we want to specifically acknowledge Axel, Sira, and Youssouf who were ABSOLUTE Gems (working the bar for Axel and Youss, and the front desk for Sira). Their professionalism, kindness, and energy really were the highlight of our weekend! - pastries: Chef Francois is the man! Made some incredible cakes and crepes which we were fortunate to try upon arrival and during the brunch on sunday! The not so good: - staff: while I've highlighted how amazing Axel, Sira, and Youss were. There was one particular lady mostly at the front desk (who was shorter in height and a heavier build) - she was particularly unfriendly and unprofessional. We asked about the brunch and she was quick ti tell us it was fully booked without even checking if that info was accurate. Turns out when we asked a server in the restaurant, we were able to get a seat on a big table. I hate to say this but her attitude was very b*tchy and that was not ok. - the room: super poorly decorated for a 4* hotel and very not well lit! We were in darkness almost all the time! Such a bummer - the gym: tiny and no ac, that was gross - the spa: looks like a city pool more than a spa, a bit of a joke to be honest

Great setting & decor, super comfy bed, unfortunately the garden needed more care and had broken glass and cigarette butts, I mentioned to the staff but it was still there the next day. The food was VERY disappointing... We loved the David Bowie chicken ! 🐓

Location is great but service is poor. I asked for some decoration in the room to surprise my husband but there was nothing when we got there. When I asked, the receptionist just said I was not told about this. No regret, no sorry. They didn't even try to make up for that. Breakfast was very disappointing as well. For the amount charged there was no options. Just the usual breads and coffee. When we asked for some warm plates, they got us egg and sausage. Do not waste your money here. It's not worth it. A good day trip at the property is more than enough.
