Der Lärchenhof

Everything was pretty much perfect: - Staff: the staff was really one of the friendliest we have ever seen. They took care of us like celebrities :) Especially good was the main waitress at our table in the restaurant - Maria. The attitude and small talk was really appreciated. My wife had a birthday during our stay and we got a very nice chocolate assortment from the hotel and a greeting from the hotel director. - Spa facilities: we mainly chose the place for the SPA. it was one of a kind. 5.000sq.m. of awesomeness. Especially the two huts at the top of the hill with the outside Jacuzzi was our favorite. - Food: the breakfast buffet was extraordinary rich and the dinner (6/7 course one) was well deserving its price - Room/Cleanliness: the room was awesome. In an Austrian/wooded style with a fireplace inside. Very clean! It is really hard to say that there is something we didn't enjoy. But maybe, the WiFi reception could have been a tad better. it kept disconnecting the whole time, but that was mainly it.

My family and I had a great time at the Hotel Der Larchenhof. We were excited to visit as my husband learned to ski here 40 years ago! The check-in was effortless; we felt catered to from the moment that we walked in. Our room was spacious, and the balcony was a nice surprise. The little bedtime storybook left in the room for my toddler was a thoughtful gesture. My facial and massage were superb! I highly recommend visiting the spa! The relaxation room is beautiful and so is the view. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars is that on a couple of occasions, certain staff members seemed almost annoyed that we did not speak German and refused to speak English even though it as obviousthat we were strugglingto order. I can understand if they didn't speak English, but at the very least, offer to bring us an English menu (which were available), so that we could review both menus side by side. Other than this, our stay was great. We loved dressing up for dinner on Friday night. I've read several reviews that had negative feedback on the food taste and quality, but we really enjoyed all of our meals!

The Spa area opens at 12:00 so you cannot use it on your day of checkout. You need to pay extra to use the gym machines. There is a long pants dress code for dinner which we weren't advised about and since our room was 1.5km from the main building we didnt have time to go and change our clothes so we were made to eat away from the main restaurant in an empty area (on my partners birthday). It made us feel unwelcome due to no fault of our own. I had advised the hotel I was there for my partners birthday and they let me know that they would surprise her. It was with a printed happy birthday letter from reception. Plus the welcome drinks we recieved were pretty stingy. A miniscule beer or a prosecco with juice in it. I feel like it would be better to skip the welcome drinks alltogether. Some of the staff seemed like they didn't want to be there. Like the guy that showed us to our room. He sped off out of the resort at ridiculous speed and did not offer to help us with bags upon arrival at the annex. This was no problem as we are strong and able but reception told us he would. The room was amazing. The food here is amazing. Compliments to the chef. This was some of the best food I have ever had. Also the spa facilities here are second to none. And the place is kept looking amazing. This place really is awesome. Some of the staff were amazing and super attentive. Some not so much. Please tell customers when there is a dress code. And don't charge extra for using your gym machines. Oh one more thing I had a massage and it was incredible. One of the best I have ever had. He was extremely professional. A massage here is a must.
