Derwent Manor Boutique Hotel

We came for lunch with friends today. July 29th. Delicious sharing platter. What elevated the experience to excellence was the friendliness and hospitality of a young man named Adam. He went out of his way to be helpful and looked after us like royalty. My friend (ex military) has actually looked after HM our late Queen and praised his people skills. Thank You for a lovely afternoon.

Beautiful grounds. Bedrooms were huge and lovely, very clean. Excellent shower. The majority of staff were really young but provided excellent service and were all very pleasant. Pool area is about to be refurbished can I suggest maybe the rail for the pool goes down the middle of steps not just one side. The assistant on the pool was also very helpful when my son, who has mobility issues struggled to get out. Thank you to her. Only downside was the breakfast bacon and eggs were hard. Otherwise a lovely relaxing stay

Overnight stay including meal last night looked presentable although a little worn and dusty in places relating to the bathroom door shower door and decor in the bar/lounge -service satisfactory in reception but the entrance and access a bit back to front . Amenities ...within the room modern but small , no view , lovely soft robes slippers and towels not squeaky like most hotels as I call them .bathroom needs toiet roll holder the shower door isn't securely fitted and why have hair conditioner but no shampoo ? Evening meal in The Antler , service around 7pm female staff one in particular poor...our order was taken only offered one menu , a long wait for food and we were the only ones in by which time new staff were behind the bar napkins were , wet , no condiments were offered and the food was appalling unfortunately so we didn't order dessert . Very noisy as the women's football was on and very loud and disturbing for a quiet meal . So we left stroll around the grounds scenic although pool and jacuzzi doesn't look up to much so we declined to use noise over night from neighbouring rooms not so much the guests but maybe the proximity and closeness of room entrances etc ...checkout ? Poor customer service..!😳🙄
