We had a wonderful stay at the Desa Dunia Beda Resort. The resort is beautifully designed - with traditional joglo wooden houses that offer plenty of privacy and are perfectly embedded in the tropical surroundings. We particularly liked the quiet location on the north side of Gili Trawangan - far away from the hustle and bustle, right on the quiet, clean beach with a view of breathtaking sunsets. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful, you immediately felt welcome and in good hands. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. The hotel's own restaurant also offers very good cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere with a view of the sea. The distance to the centre is long - so you should plan to use bicycles or horse-drawn carriages if you want to get into the "action" more often. For us, however, this was a plus point because we were looking for peace and relaxation. Conclusion: If you are looking for authentic island flair, nature and relaxation, you will be absolutely happy here.
Lovely resort on the top of the island away from the busy part by the ferry port. About a 40 minute walk from the ferry or you can hire a bicycle or electric bike. The hotel has bikes you can hire for a good price. The breakfast was lovely especially the juices and pancakes. We saw turtles whilst swimming and saw the most stunning sunsets from the beach. The bungalow was nice and the AC was very good. Staff were lovely and we had a great time. Thank you for being part of our honeymoon! One of the best places we saw on the island that were for a couple wanting to relax and swim with turtles! And amazing value!
We had a lovely stay here and hope to come back some day soon. The room was clean and spacious with a huge bed, it felt very luxurious. However, the best thing about this hotel was its lovely peaceful private beach and amazing staff. The beach was fairly quiet throughout the day but was beaming with turtles and other sea life so you could snorkel (of which the hotel offered free snorkel gear) away from the crowds. I loved the hotel’s restaurant. Every meal I had was delicious and it was lovely getting to know the staff over the few days we were there.
