Beautiful views of the lake from this hotel. Food is good but the views are what make this a great place to stay. Up on a hill, so we didn't try to walk anywhere from here. Uber and taxi were easy to get to head out to see the sites of the area.
We had a great time. Service is excellent and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable after a good hike in the area. The restaurant serves good food and the staff is very kind. The view from the restaurant over the lake is amazing.
As an Argentine, I recognize that the Desing Hotel Bariloche offers a unique accommodation experience, standing out for its innovative design and prime location right by the lakeshore. The view of the majestic Lake Azul, framed by impressive mountains, and the harmonious integration of nature—with pine trees, a diverse array of birds, and beautiful flowers—makes it especially attractive to foreign tourists and those with higher disposable incomes. The hotel’s entrance, featuring steep ramps, adds a distinctive yet somewhat extravagant architectural touch. However, from my perspective, this focus is quite evident: the complex is clearly geared toward an exclusive clientele. Minor issues, such as a brief interruption in the water supply and some offhand remarks from the staff (like suggesting guests leave their jewelry at the counter during breakfast), contribute to the feeling that the service is trying to impose standards that aren’t in tune with our local customs. Overall, while the experience at the Desing Hotel is remarkable, its concept seems tailored more for a specific type of visitor rather than for the local tourist.
