Destino Punta Esmeralda

I was budget-spending so decided to go for a cheaper option for a one-day pool pass. You get what you pay for, I guess. Not great but not horrible. I was able to bring my own food and drink in, since they didn't offer any. Environment was very calm until around 3 pm when a bunch of kids came in and were roudy, loud, and splashing. There is no adult area so I couldn't get away and ended up going to walk on the beach. Probably better if you actually have kids or don't mind the noise. Otherwise, probably worth it to spend your money on a place to actually relax.

I would not call this a resort. Many people usually stay here long term, four to eight weeks.

The hotel is what I would call a nice "dump." It's fairly clean and neat but nothing works quite right. From the door and the door knobs to the shower that has no water pressure to the ceiling fan that squeaks and keeps you awake. Nothing in the hotel room was fully broken nor fully functional. The pool area is nice and rooms quite large. You could squeeze a whole family in if you needed to. I checked out after one night. I'm a light sleeper & I could hear everyone in the building close their room door. Luckily it stopped around midnight.
