We had an amazing time there. The rooms were simple, but it had the touch of traditional style. The location was very convenient, with restaurants, pharmacy, supermarket, and some central tourist points within walking distance. Maria, the host, was the icing on rhetorical cake, such a lovely, caring and genuine person. She gave us top class treatment and showed so much love to our kids. It felt like if they were at Grandma’s house. She showed availability to help with whatever we needed. Totally recommend not only for families but to couples and solo travelers.
We booked DG Prestige for our first visit in Rome and it couldn’t have been a better choice! We felt at home because Maria treated us like her children! She is a great host and she always wanted us to feel great, always asking us if we need something, or if everything is well! About the location i really appreciated how clean the bed linen and towels were, the bathroom that was clean and well equiped, and last but not least, the fact that it was quiet and close to all the main attractions in Rome. Also, it has a market at the ground floor of the building and a pharmacy nearby. Thank you for everything!
Worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. Although this hotel claims to be a 3 star hotel, the only favorable points are the location, relatively close to major sights. Everything else is disastrous. Breakfast - same every day. The "Swedish" breakfast is just a plate of cheese, Praha ham and salami. You can also choose between orange juice, water, butter and bread as well as melted cheese and some sweets. Coffee is available only on request, and a lady brews it in a tiny coffee pot, so you'll be embarrassed to ask for more. The same strategy is used for boiling eggs: they are prepared in a very small pot, in which only 2 eggs fit in a boiling session. One day I had one egg. The next day the egg was leaking from the shell and I returned it untouched. The food is not fresh. Uneaten boiled eggs are left in the refrigerator and served the next day. 8 people can hardly take their breakfast simultaneously. One day we had to wait for breakfast because of this fact. The room was ok at first glance, but we soon realized that the sink backed up in the shower tub. The window had a fault (it was leaning down even when largely open). The water does not drain out of the shower cubicle quickly enough, so that a puddle forms during showering, which is not very hygienic. The toilet seat was sliding off the toilet bowl. Only one person services this hotel until 2pm. After 2pm, if you forget the key in the room, you've messed it up. Now I come to the most serious issue: the hotel is a spacious apartment in a Roman palazzo (we stayed on the 3rd floor), whose rooms have been converted into mini-apartments (bedroom + bathroom). The problem is that the initial design of the building did not provide proper evacuation for so many toilets. Consequently, all the toilets in this hotel are equipped with an electric device that grinds the content of the toilet bowl and flushes it down a thin, kitchen-like pipe. These machines are either in the restrooms or, as in our case, in the linen and towel storage room right next to our room! Imagine that ALL customers in this hotel were wiping their bodies with towels and sleeping on linen laying directly on the floor of this room, where feces were prepared for evacuation! After a power failure in the morning, this appliance for our bathroom got blocked and backed up and in the evening. When we were getting ready to go out to eat, we woke up to water mixed with feces, coming under the front door. The hotel staff were notified, we asked for a new room, but we were refused. That whole night (the last, thankfully) smelled like feces. The water with feces infiltrated the wooden floor. One day before this event, in the next room to us the same happened and the ventilator from that bathroom buzzed all the night. After checking out, we were reprimanded for wiping our butts with wet wipes instead of the toilet paper they provided (our room did not have a bidet shower). The staff claimed that this was why the flush backed up. They did not manifest any empathy at all with the situation we were in. In a word, economy in everything, the customer is trapped. After I left the review the owner of the hotel proceeded to harass me instead of appologizing. Avoid this place if you don't want to ruin your vacation. Not worth the money or the nerves.
