This is an EXCELLENT hotel and restaurant that is very old. The charm is that it is very old. Historically old. The staff is delightful and very helpful. The dinner was amazing and we enjoyed soaking up the history of this place almost as much as the food. My wife and I have discussed our stay here numerous times and this has one of the fondest spots in our hearts from our last trip to Germany. We got up at about 4:30 am and walked along the river, listened to the birds, and had great conversations as the sun came up and then treated ourselves to an amazing breakfast. As far as we are concerned, we stay here or we stay nowhere while we're in Heidelberg! Hervorragendste Erfahrung!
My precious husband and I stayed here over 15 years ago while he was training at Heidelberg printer company. It was our first time overseas from USA and in the winter! What a dream staying here and a memory I now cherish since my beloved passed away. Our room was so romantic, the food delicious, the staff delightful. I'm so glad your wonderful establishment is still there! Thank you for the memories!
A really wonderful experience at Die Hirschgasse. The hotel itself is in a very quiet location but still an easy walk to the old town, and the room was spacious and nicely appointed. The staff was helpful, friendly and very responsive to any request. The meals here are a special experience starting with the breakfast, which is a good as any I've had in any hotel anywhere, and, of course, the restaurant with great food and flawless service.
