Die Port van Cleve Hotel

This hotel was great! It was in a great location to walk to most places. It is situated between the main square and the Jordaan area, both of which were very walkable from the hotel. The train station was right across the street which was very convenient to get to other places a little further. The hotel room itself was very clean and spacious. I got a superior room that I shared with a friend. When we got into the room. It was newly renovated and spotless. It had A large entertainment center that provided storage and separation from the bed and the sitting area. The sitting area provided a large pull-out sofa. This made it easy for both of us to not only have our own beds but to have space between us. Our room was located on the first floor. The windows do not open. For the most part, it was pretty quiet inside the room. You did hear the tram going by but it didn't bother me at all while going to sleep. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Newly renovated hotel rooms in the heart of Amsterdam. Super clean and organized. Our stay was wonderful and above expectations. The staff was outstanding, friendly and accommodating. Daniel Diaz (front desk) was so welcoming and made us feel like we were old friends reuniting. His knowledge of the hotel and of the area was extensive. The bartender in the bodega bar and restaurant staff were friendly and great as well. I had the duck breast in the restaurant one night that was one of the best I've ever had. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again. Thank you!

I’m currently staying at Die Port Van Cleve Hotel in Amsterdam, and tonight is my third and final night here. The experience has been mixed – some positives, but also some disappointing aspects. On the positive side: The room is well-arranged, nicely furnished, and quite comfortable. The overall design is pleasant, and the reception staff have been very friendly and helpful throughout the stay, which I really appreciated. However, the major letdown has been the room service and cleaning. Housekeeping has been extremely poor. Even after we asked reception to have our room cleaned again, the cleaning remained substandard. They didn’t change the garbage bags, didn’t restock the coffee, tea, or even provide clean coffee cups or any of the expected complimentary items – not once during the entire stay. It’s a shame because the hotel has great potential thanks to its location, nice rooms, and welcoming reception team. But the lack of proper housekeeping really took away from the overall experience. Would I stay here again? Only if they seriously improve their room service and cleanliness standards.
