DIFY Royale Hotel de Ville

The apartment was very clean and well put together. Had everything we needed and our room had an amazing very of the river. The aprtment did not have air conditioning so thats why i gave it a little less on the stars. I would say 4.5, they offered to let us cancel for free because they did not have ac, but we decided not to because od the great location and we were already traveling. They provided fans, but i wish they had offered a couple of larger ones. Overall a very good experience! Recommend!

The location is great—it’s very close to shops, the metro, and restaurants. However, that’s all that’s good about this location. The bed was uncomfortable; the pillows are so flat that you’re better off sleeping without it. The floor was not cleaned well, so any time we walked around, we had to make sure we had our house slippers on, lest we wanted to wash our blackened feet every time we treaded across the room. While we managed to snag a room on the third floor (it’s like a fifth story modern apartment walk up) it was still a trek to get back to our room. The kitchen had only a sliver of dish soap that I had to fill with water in order to utilize for the entirety of our trip. However, that was not the straw that broke the camel’s back for us—it was the fact that there was no aircond 😅 I’d definitely avoid staying here if I visit Lyon again.

We booked to stay at 21Royale for 3 nights but checked out the next day due to the noise from work done right outside the building. This place has no aircond - so if you come to stay in summer, be prepared to deal with heat.
