Me and my wife had a superb 8-night stay at Dimora Palanca in Florence at the end of January and early February. The location is excellent central yet peaceful, perfect for exploring the city. The rooms and washrooms were spotless and very well maintained. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety to start each day right. What truly made the stay memorable was the outstanding service from Elisa and Jacomo they were incredibly helpful, friendly, and attentive throughout. The elegant setting, attention to detail, and warm hospitality made this a perfect Florence experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city!

This hotel is a hidden gem, within easy walking distance of all the museums and sights, yet removed enough to be peaceful. I found the room quiet, comfy and tasteful, with wooden floors, really high ceilings and tall insulated windows. All the people who worked there were so kind and helpful. The breakfast and the restaurant were great (try the artichoke salad!). They have a spa that I didn’t use, but looks great, with a big jacuzzi and different saunas and showers. The whole stay was great, but my favorite was the arrival. What an unparalleled cinematic experience to come in for the first time into the main hall area. Picture white high ceilings and a great staircase, moody classical music playing, and being welcomed by a charming, young vampire with impeccable eyebrows. Said vampire, who happens to work there (Giacomo Carlo is his name in case you are curious) is also a restaurant fiend, helping me find a perfect dinner and generally tending to everyone and making it look effortless.

Mediocre and definitely not a 5 star hotel. Elisa was wonderful. Friendly and welcoming. Very professional and experienced. Property is nice as well but poorly managed. 1. Food selection was great but breakfast staff wasn’t professional and didn’t know how to place guests and offer drinks (very basic stuff). Lacking very basic understanding of what good service is. 2. The other two reception staff (men) had attitudes, one was VERY rude when I told him we had to cancel the taxi because I had also called an Uber given that we are late for the train and the taxi they called took too long to arrive. He insisted that we couldn’t cancel the taxi. He left a really bad impression on me and my family. 3. The massage was a joke. One of them had a ponytail and her hair kept brushing on my face. She dug her nails into me and frankly my mom and I felt like they didn’t know what to do with us…. We ordered deep tissue massage and were caressed for over 30 minutes. Would not recommend for the price we paid. It’s a pity.
