We had a really nice stay at this hotel. Our room had a lake view, which was lovely. It was clean and had everything we needed. We could hear a bit of noise from nearby rooms, but it wasn’t too disturbing. The hotel is less than a 10-minute walk to the Disney parks, and there’s also a shuttle that takes about the same time. If the weather is nice, I highly recommend walking — it’s more enjoyable and gives you a chance to explore the lake and the area around the hotel. Overall, it was definitely a good experience, and I would happily stay here again.
I have seen recent reviews saying some negative things about Newport Bay but we as a family of 5 have just come back and have very little negative to say about it. I would definitely recommend paying extra for Compass Club if possible as the regular check in situation looked chaotic. Compass Club check in was empty and we were up to our rooms very quickly, a godsend when you have 3 excited kids! The room was clean and the air con worked. Everything was done properly when cleaned and sheets changed and fresh towels were provided every day. The rooms are slightly dated and tired but everything we had worked. I can imagine looking at the age of some of the hotel that it might not be the case in every room, which may be where negative comments come from. The Compass Club was very helpful as you could pop back to the hotel and get free soft drinks all day and afternoon tea at 3.30 until 5 which breaks up the day in the theme parks. Compass Club breakfast and afternoon tea was great quality, although service was a bit hit and miss as you couldn't help yourself to drinks. You have to rely on service and at busy periods we were forgotten a couple of times and had to go back and ask again. The staff were so friendly though and apologetic about it. The pool area is absolutely fine and clean. It is a bit dated like everything in the hotel but no complaints about it really as everything worked and was well maintained. The hotel is in a great location about 15 minutes gentle stroll to the park entrances and it is a fairly pleasant walk along the side of the lake. All in all I would recommend this hotel with the Compass Club upgrade.
Stayed for three nights at May half term. Great location for the parks. We were staying in a compass club room and check in was excellent. I have to say I was slightly disappointed with our room the bathroom was dark and dated. And our view was of a lovely rooftop and delivery car park. Not what you would expect for going the level up. Service at the hotel was excellent in the breakfast / afternoon tea restaurant we loved the artwork on the hot drinks. However room service was lacking slightly. We never received new bottled water after the first two were drank. Had to go to reception and request more shampoo/ conditioner we ran out. The pool was quite cold and one of the steam rooms wasn’t working. But the kids still had fun playing in the water. If I’m being honest I would probably try one of the other hotels if returning
