The Grand Floridian is an amazing place. The property is large without feeling overwhelming. There is one main building, with several out buildings. Depending on your choice of rooms, you can enjoy a view of the water, Magic Kingdom, or less desirable views. Our room was well appointed and the beds very comfortable. Most rooms will easily accommodate a family of 4 or 5? The bathroom was perfect. There are several restaurants in the main building, so there is something for everyone. The onsite staff are, as you'd expect friendly, helpful and attentive. You have easy access to Magic Kingdom via the monorail or a ferry. Pro tip: It's worth taking the monorail to the park, but on the return, take the ferry as it's less crowded. What's the downside? Well, it's Disney, so it's expensive. The dinner buffet was $69.00 PP and the offerings were basic buffet fare, nothing exceptional. Also, if you have a room in one of the out buildings, as we did, there were no staff on site, except for housekeepers. There also are no vending machines so you're stuck if you want something other than tap water.
Stunning hotel - our first trip to Disney and I’m so happy we stretched for the Grand Floridian. This hotel is one stop on the monorail from the Magic Kingdom and you can walk there in just under 15 mins (or back) id you like. Considering how close it is to the Park, it’s like a calm, peaceful oasis away from the parks. The architecture is welcoming, calming, relaxing and friendly, with a comfortable feel. The rooms are large and comfortable. Ours had 2x queen beds and 1x sofa bed. This is a Disney Deluxe resort so you get the exclusive evening access to certain parks once to twice a week, also early morning access to all the parks each morning (great to get on the rides you want and avoid long queues). The hotel feels really special, and not at all like the theme park hotel, we’d stay here again in a heartbeat and I’d recommend it to all. The only downside is the price - it ain’t cheap, but the monorail stops at the hotel so that gives you quick access to Magic Kingdom and Epcot, also you have buses directly from the hotel taking you to Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach and Disney Springs. Tl;Dr - Disney’s Grand Floridian: it’s not cheap, but it’s great and highly recommended as your luxury, tranquil theme park get away!
The Grand Floridian is such a beautiful resort! The lobby is absolutely stunning and feels so elegant—plus, there’s often a live piano player, which adds to the atmosphere. They are currently doing some renovations in the lobby, but it wasn’t disruptive and didn’t take away from the experience. The property is definitely on the pricier side, and the layout is spread out across several buildings. We stayed in Conch Key, and our room was fantastic. It had a nice balcony, had recently been renovated, and felt fresh and modern. The beds were incredibly cozy, everything was spotless, and the bathroom was clean and well-appointed. I also loved the little touches, like the coffee station and the in-room voice assistant (similar to an Alexa), which was surprisingly helpful. There’s so much to do at the Grand Floridian, from two beautiful pools to multiple restaurants, boat rentals, and more. The new renovations make it feel even more luxurious, and overall, it’s a resort that really delivers on both comfort and experience.
