Me and My Girlfriend stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside resort at Disney, earlier last month! It was my first time ever staying on Disney property and thoroughly enjoyed it! The shuttle was awesome, not having to drive or maneuver through traffic was a huge bonus. I loved the boats that took you to and from Disney Springs, we used that 2-3 times! The resort itself is very clean and well maintained. We stayed in the alligator bayou area, and utilized the pool in the alligator bayou. We only ate breakfast each morning at the resort, and thought the selection was perfect for everyone! The room we stayed in was clean, well maintained, and every other day cleaning staff would remake the beds! The swans and hearts made out of towels on the beds were a magical touch! I would highly recommend staying here, and would definitely come back next time!
This resort is a nice quiet getaway. I loved the quiet pool near our alligator bayou building. Perfect for our one year old to swim with us. Parking at first sees daunting but it worked out pretty well.
We were really looking forward to our stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet expectations. Upon arrival, we were placed in an ADA-accessible room, which we hadn’t requested and didn’t need. While we understand these rooms are essential for guests who rely on accessibility features, assigning one unnecessarily could mean someone who truly needs it may not have access. The room itself was noticeably run down—dingy, not very clean, and clearly in need of maintenance. There was visible mold and mildew, and the handheld showerhead fell apart when we tried to use it. We brought these issues to the attention of the front desk, and they were polite and responsive, offering us two options: move to another room at Riverside or transfer to the sister resort, French Quarter. We chose to stay at Riverside for convenience but regretted not opting for French Quarter. The process of packing up and moving took away valuable time we’d planned to spend in the parks, so we didn’t ask to relocate again. As a goodwill gesture, we were offered a one-time complimentary Minnie Van to the parks, which we appreciated, but it didn’t fully make up for the experience. For the cost, I expected much more. Having previously stayed at Value resorts, I found them to be in better condition than this Moderate resort. Sadly, I wouldn’t choose Port Orleans – Riverside again.
