Distinction Palmerston North Hotel & Conference Centre

Karma was absolutely outstanding! His hospitality and friendliness made our stay, top notch. We also had a lovely lady help us late on Saturday night (1st of Jan 2025) I can’t remember her name but she She was so kind and made sure everything was perfect for us. There was also a lovely man behind the bar in the front dining room, unfortunately I didn’t catch his name but he gave me some oat milk for my coffee which I appreciated greatly. Thanks for an awesome stay guys! You should all be super proud of yourselves 🙂

Horrible. Checked in key wouldn’t open my room, they young receptionist opened it but didn’t show me the issue and then I was met with a old, drab room with a horrible bed, two fan heaters and the noise of the neighbour on a phone call and the traffic. I checked out and found somewhere cheaper and far nicer. Ps under the coverlet was a thin wool blanket and sheets

We are deeply disappointed in the experience we've had with Distinction Palmerston North Hotel & Conference Centre. Our event planned for this weekend (June 7th) had been booked with your venue since January 2025. We had clear confirmation, a (seemingly) strong relationship with your events team, and had already invested considerable time, money, and resources into promoting and preparing for this weekend. However, just days out from the event, we were contacted by Doug via email, who informed us that our booking had been cancelled in favour of another client. This last-minute decision was not only unprofessional but incredibly disrespectful. We had been on-site in person the previous week and at no point was any concern or issue raised by Doug. To cancel with no prior discussion, and on a long weekend no less, has left our team scrambling and out of pocket. This kind of treatment is unacceptable. We had sold tickets, arranged performers, photographers & security, and even helped boost your bookings through our marketing. To be cast aside so abruptly has completely broken our trust in your management. We won’t be returning, and we certainly won’t be recommending Distinction Palmerston North to anyone looking for a reliable, professional event venue.
