I had a great time at this hotel. It's very close to the tourist attractions and the tram stop that takes you everywhere. The rooms were very clean. All the staff were super helpful and super kind. Thank you so much again.

Staying at Divan Ali Otel was one of the highlights of my trip to Istanbul. Tucked away in the historic Beyazıt district, this cozy little hotel manages to strike the perfect balance between comfort, charm, and genuine hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like old friends. The staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile — whether it was offering tips on local spots, helping us with directions, or just chatting over tea in the lobby. The room we stayed in was spotless, tastefully decorated, and surprisingly quiet for such a central location. We had everything we needed — a comfy bed, strong Wi-Fi, and a clean bathroom with good water pressure (which, if you travel a lot, you know is a blessing!). The location itself is unbeatable. You’re within walking distance of the Grand Bazaar, Sultanahmet, and so many historical sites. We started most mornings with a traditional Turkish breakfast on the terrace, and it felt like the city was waiting just outside the door. Divan Ali isn’t one of those big, flashy hotels — and that’s exactly why it’s so special. It has heart. If you’re looking for a place with soul, comfort, and a genuine connection to the city, this is it. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Istanbul.

Rating: 1 Star (would give zero if possible) From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the experience was disappointing. The lobby is extremely small, with only four chairs awkwardly spaced – two near the reception and two next to the elevator. There's no comfortable space to sit and wait. Things only got worse from there. Our room door didn’t open due to signal issues, and it took an entire day before anyone addressed the problem. We were not offered a new room and were simply told that none were available. Inside the room, we immediately noticed cracks all over the floor and mold in the shower area – a clear health hazard. The shower head couldn’t be mounted properly, and the sink area offered barely any space for personal items. The wardrobe was poorly designed, making it impossible to hang clothes properly – completely impractical for more than a couple of garments. The layout of the room provides no privacy. A curtain separates the sleeping area, but in the dressing area it doesn’t close properly. If left open, people can see directly into the bed – highly uncomfortable if you're undressed. As for the amenities, the TV didn’t offer any streaming services – no Netflix, no YouTube, nothing to choose from. The water in the shower was usually cold. Breakfast was another major disappointment: the bread was extremely hard, and on several days it seemed to be from the previous day. On one occasion, we were even told there was no bread left at all. Many other items tasted stale. Milk was served hot, which makes eating cereal unpleasant. We also heard other guests complaining. The staff rotates daily. While one person was friendly and helpful, most others were disorganized and dismissive. Complaints were constantly pushed to the next day, with empty promises and no action. The website also failed to mention that the whirlpool is only open from June onward. The terrace is a mess, and the overall appearance is chaotic. The elevator barely fits two people. Conclusion: This hotel is absolutely not worth the money. I would not recommend it to anyone. There are far better options out there. If I could give zero stars, I would. The breakfast is poor, the service unreliable, and the entire stay was a disappointment from start to finish. See the photos, they speak for themselves. We can't understand why the are 4 Star Hotel or have some good rates.
