Dom Goncalo Hotel & Spa

A much better choice! Unfortunately we had a very uncomfortable experience with Luz Charming Houses and left looking for an alternative place to stay because we did not feel welcome there. Dom Concalo proved to be a far better choice due to kid friendliness (our child LOVED the kids club!), kinder service (all smiles and the staff welcomed questions with no side eyes or other dismissing and condescending looks), better pool situation (even though only an hour a day of your choosing, it’s a gorgeous setup with spa features including sauna, Turkish bath, and more), EXCELLENT breakfast and food including a Michelin star, and MUCH better location. All of this for about a third of the price of Luz. Don’t make the mistake we did! Save your money and have a far superior and more peaceful experience at Dom!

It's an amazing location, mostly to visit the centre of the country as well. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good. I wish we're a bit more vegan/vegetarian options, staff is 5 stars made the staying very pleasant.

Disappointed with Staff Behaviour and Facilities I was genuinely surprised by how rude the staff were during our stay. I visited for three nights with my family, including two small children, expecting a relaxing experience. Unfortunately, the behaviour of the front desk staff was unacceptable—abrupt and unwelcoming. I don’t usually raise complaints, but I had to speak up and ask the staff member to adjust her tone and apologise. The hotel itself was underwhelming. The pool is very small, and the gym is no bigger than a regular garage, with very limited equipment. These facilities are not what you’d expect for a hotel in this price range. Overall, the environment and the poor customer service have really taken away from our trip. I would not recommend staying here and would advise others to avoid this hotel if possible.
