From the moment we arrived, we knew we had stumbled upon something special. Nestled in a tranquil setting, this romantic spa hotel offered an unforgettable escape from everyday life. The atmosphere was calm, intimate, and effortlessly luxurious — the perfect backdrop for a couple’s retreat. Our room was spacious, that set the tone for the entire stay. The spa that left us both deeply relaxed, followed by time in the thermal baths and sauna, hammam and sensorial shower. The staff were warm, professional, and made sure every moment felt personalized and special. It was easy to lose track of time as we floated between treatments, wrapped in fluffy robes and serene silence. Dining at the hotel was another highlight. The candlelit restaurant served exquisite cuisine, with every dish artfully presented and bursting with flavor. The wine list was excellent, and the service was attentive yet discreet, allowing us to savor every moment together.
I swear, when I pulled up to this so-called “castle,” I half-expected dragons and court jesters—not a stuffy Best Western ratchet disguised in medieval wallpaper. The 17th-century charm must’ve retired years ago, because all I saw were echoes of grandeur that smelled faintly of eau de mold. The spa? More like a lukewarm bathtub with attitude. They boasted an indoor and outdoor pool—I wish I’d known that meant the indoor one was freezing and the outdoor one served as a mosquito breeding ground. I still have welts. Service was non-existent at best which is already giving them more credit for what we experiences on site... In short: save your euros, bring your own shampoo (and dinner), pack a sleeping bag just in case—or just don’t.
Terrible service. No drinks, no food available. We were told the restaurant was fully booked, even though there were clearly empty tables. In the end, we’re going to bed hungry. Excellent service indeed. 👏
