A huge thankyou to the team at La Corniche who made our birthday getaway so incredibly special for us! The hotel is a wonderfully charming oasis of tranquility, with plenty of activities and super spa and pool facilities, excellent breakfast (the pancake machine is super cool!) - and the best view of the Seine and countryside in France! Great for a day trip to Giverny, and for cycling the surrounding area. Thanks again to the team for going above and beyond and for such a warm welcome. All the best, and we hope to be back. Though I’m grateful we were upgraded to a ”superior” room at the price of 84€ instead of +200€, it definitely did not feel like it. The finishes of the construction in the room were an eyesore. The milk packet for the coffee was sour and expired. The price of 35€ for the spa I was happy to pay, but you get what you pay for. It was old and creepy like our room. We didn’t even get bathrobes though it was promised to be in our room, and the lady at the spa front desk refused to give me one when we were there, and laughed at me idiotically. The dinner at the bistro was nice. That’s about the only thing we enjoyed. Although, we asked for sparkling water and got sink water. The bar man at the main checkin house was a disaster. He didn’t know his wines and took 20 minutes to prepare 2 gin and tonics. We were only 2 couples in the bar.. After dinner we wanted to take another drink so we walked back to the bar in the main building. We saw a red wine on the list and asked for 2 glasses and the bar man said annoyingly ”well I would have to go down to the basement then..” So we left. I wouldn’t call this place a 4 star hotel. Someone mentioned a motel, and that’s about what I would call it. A high end motel with outrageous prices! Thank you for your hospitality but we will most likely not be back.
This was by far one of the most disappointing experiences. The hotel is overpriced, run down, has nearly no facilities, advertises itself as a family location but really it is for couples only. There is no food, no facilities, and while they say you get to use the spa, you still have to pay to access it even as a hotel guest, and once there the service is unfriendly and in fact rather rude. They didn’t let me enter with my children even though it specified on the website there is access. Overall terrible experience and very very expensive for no good reason!
