Domaine de La Groirie Le Mans

Amazing stay. We booked this place when planning a trip to the French countryside months in advance and had no idea that this would be the highlight of our trip! The hotel is just a few minutes out of Le Mans and situated on a 100+ acre property that is stunning. The rooms are modern but classically styled, the service is outstanding and the breakfast was amazing. My wife was at CDG saying "if" she lost her passport (wink wink) she was going to return to the Chateau and stay. I think she was trying to find a plausible way to lose it and have no choice but to return ;0) Would definitely stay again, thank you Domaine de la Groirie!

Domaine de la Groirie is a truly enchanting experience, offering a glimpse into French country life that exceeded all expectations. Located just outside Le Mans, the sprawling 100+ acre property is breathtakingly beautiful, providing a relaxing and tranquil escape. This hotel proved to be the unexpected highlight of our trip to France. The rooms blend modern amenities with classic styling, and the comfortable accommodations, coupled with the stunning grounds and a fantastic pool, create a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. The tour of the Chateau was fascinating, and we particularly enjoyed spotting the wildlife in the surrounding fields. While the location is idyllic, it's important to note that it's about a 10-minute drive to the nearest restaurants or town, requiring a car or taxi. The service was exceptional, particularly the proactive communication and warm welcome we received from the hotel associate. She went above and beyond to accommodate our late arrival due to train delays, even providing a video guide and personally greeting us well past the usual closing time. Her kindness and attention to detail truly made our stay memorable. The breakfast was also a highlight, setting us up perfectly for exploring the region. The grounds, including the gardens, swimming pool, forest, and lake, provide a truly unique and picturesque setting, allowing you to feel transported to another era. However, there were a few minor drawbacks. Our room had a noticeable musty odor and a slight smell with the toilet cistern. While the room was clean, this may be a concern for those with sensitive noses. Also, we found the lack of a top sheet a little unusual, and the air conditioning wasn't particularly effective. Despite this, the bed was comfortable, and we slept well. Overall: Domaine de la Groirie is a truly special place, offering a luxurious and captivating experience. If you are seeking a taste of 18th-century French charm and don't mind being a short drive from town, this hotel is highly recommended. Just be aware of the potential for a slight musty odor in some rooms and the limitations of the air conditioning. Despite these minor issues, the stunning surroundings, exceptional service, and overall ambiance make this a truly unforgettable destination.

Charline and her team were incredibly welcoming, kind, attentive and knowledgeable. It was a great pleasure to stay at this beautiful estate which felt like a time travel into romanticism where time stands still and idyllic nature makes you recharge automatically. I highly recommend it and cannot wait to return in the near future.
