Domaine de la Mouthe

We have just returned from two weeks staying in a gite here and wish we were still there. The things that really matter were all in place - the pool was amazing - warm and a great size. The privacy from the other gites as well as the guest house was perfect for us, the games room and facilities were brilliant and as a family, we would go in in the evening to play - great fun! And we made use of the gym equipment too which all worked fine. Marie-Ange is just BRILLIANT. So welcoming, so friendly, and so helpful - there's not much she doesn't know about the area, what's on etc. The gite had everything you need in the kitchen. A gas hob and electric oven meant any cooking we did was easy. Plenty of room in the fridge and freezer. The beds were very comfortable (which makes such a difference). They have amazing mosquito nets up at the windows so you can have fresh air without being bitten by bugs. 5 min drive to the boulangerie, great supermarkets in Montpon-Menesterol, and lots and lots of local markets too. Literally the best gite holiday we've ever stayed in. Thank you - we hope to come back.

Absolutely amazing!! I honestly cannot pick one thing that I didn’t love about this place. Marie is one of the most caring people I ever met and made my stay there an experience I will never forget. Also Daisy (the dog) is great and if you like dogs you will love her! I was heartbroken having to leave Daisy on my last morning. The place is very scenic, the room is super comfortable with a good kitchen and great shower, and the breakfast is unreal!! I would never miss the opportunity to stay in this place again. In fact, I would move in there if I could!!

An incredibly calm and beautiful place, in the Périgord countryside! A place where you can really and truly relax, in the middle of a beautiful nature, surrounded by forests and fields, where you can see horses roaming free in the valley! We initially booked a suite for 4 days. It was extremely functional (TV, A/C, extra pillows, kettle, microwave, fridge, dishes, cutlery, ... to just mention a few), tastefully decorated, with a kitchenette and a very nice terrace - a pleasure to live here for 4 days. In fact, we felt so good here, that we actually decided to change our holiday entirely (thus cancelling our last segment at the Mediterranean) and to come back here in less than a week, for another 4 days! During our second stay, we had a beautiful room with very comfortable bedding, equally functional (with A/C, TV, fridge, kettle, extra pillows, ...), a nice private terrace and comfortable bathroom. Although a kitchenette is not available in the room itself, like in the suites, there is a kitchen that can be used by people staying in rooms without a kitchenette, so that's no problem. The breakfast is very tasty and plentiful, and you can choose to serve it in the seating area with the other guests (respecting the current Covid rules entirely), or on your private terrace, where you have a table with chairs. The owner of the domain is extremely nice, helpful and friendly and she is more than happy to present you the region and what is there to see and do during your stay. And speaking about the domain - you can even choose not to leave anywhere during your stay, as there is something to do for everyone: a huge swimming pool, baby foot, ping pong, gym, ... And one more thing: nights are so dark and the place is so pollution-free that you can see the Milky Way and an amazingly beautiful starry sky just overhead at night, right on your terrace! This was one of the nicest places where I have ever stayed. I recommend it 100%.
