We spent 4 days in this noble, yet non-stuffy, historic chateau hotel; enjoying the beautiful hotel park and naturally landscaped grounds, pools and exploring the many highlights of the Dordogne river valley. The service personel was friendly and helpful, our room was very clean and quiet. Only the quality of the restaurant was surprisingly unspectacular - we had hoped for more. Still, it was a wonderful stay and we hope to visit again soon.

We are running away from another terribly gross airbnb to here at 10:30pm, and felt very welcomed and the girl reception is fantastic!!! She showed us a room in castle and another in the annex. We finally chose to stay in the annex. It is really new and clean with AC as life saver in the heat. Highly recommended!!!!!!!

Re: wow I am in greater shock seeing the hotel’s reply. The first thing we asked when the front desk showed us the room was toothbrush/paste/slippers and was told BY YOUR STAFF that you don’t provide any of these. It seems that you can provide these but rejected my request on site, wow speaking of how professional you run the hotel. Sure I didn’t request to change the room because it was the room we booked. When we were told none of these things can be provided, we didn’t even think about requesting for a better room: when the hotel couldn’t provide the most basic necessities that any Marriott/Hyatt/Hilton hotel can provide, who would have thought that you could do a free upgrade? To add on to it, we arrived roughly 8pm at night and it was pretty dark and the front desk was just one girl who seemed really rushed and impatient. You can argue how good your hotel is and how great your breakfast is. I am also just writing down my expectation mismatches. For reference, I am a Marriott titanium member and we drove to stay here from San-Sebastian. I happened to be staying in a comparable priced villa in San Sebastián and had a far better experience (room size, hospitality, amenities, breakfast) and thus was very disappointed given the experience and value for money. Terrible, a complete rip-off. I paid 110 euro per night. The room is like maids room with open shower space. The hotel is not to serve clients but to make money. Asked but no tooth brush no tooth paste no slippers can be provided. If you come not in summer season, which means you can’t really use the outdoor poor, don’t stay here. There are so many better options in Sarlat or adjacent counties with cheaper prices. Also, the breakfast is 17 euros per person but mostly cold plates. No a la carte/freshly cooked eggs provided. We ended up going to Sarlat for far better breakfast options. Receptionist not willing to help. This hotel just wanted to make money. Period.
