Domaine de Saulon

Wonderful stay, every staff member we encountered was polite, friendly, professional and courteous; I must have stayed in a different hotel to the poor reviews, because my experience was fantastic. Wine was great, food was brilliant, love the restaurant. Will definitely return.

This is an affordable yet magnificent stay. Château de Saulon, is a real hidden gem. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway, this place is perfect. It’s a stunning castle with beautiful grounds that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. The rooms are charming, and many have that classic, rustic French vibe. You can enjoy a glass of local wine while strolling through the gardens or relaxing by the pool. The staff is friendly, and super helpful. It’s not super touristy, so you get to experience a more relaxed side of France—ideal for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Overall, it’s a lovely spot if you want some quiet time in the countryside, surrounded by history and nature. Their grounds are huge and rooms offer a great view of the property. It’s close to the city and conveniently placed. There is free parking on site. They also offer breakfast buffet at an additional price. All in all the stay was amazing and I would highly recommend it and would definitely visit again.

Ahhh. Don’t really know, what to say…. It is a nice place. Nice rooms… But “value for money “…? Not really - wi-fi not working in the room (talked to 3-4 staffmembers about this, and they promised to “look into it”… but nothing happened - they forgot to clean the room, so we had to get new towels (and toiletpaper ;-) ) ourselves (of course, we can do that… i just expected something else) - very limited menucard in the fine restaurant - they don’t use much time and effort to keep the premises “nice and clean inside and outside” So conclusion: nice place…but for that kind of money, I would have expected more. Just saying
