We had a room at the castle, a 3 bed room, and the bathroom (with tub) was in the left tower! The place has a wonderful and relaxing atmosphere, the castle from the 16th century, the large trees with crows, the park and the full moon. Just perfect! The staff were also very very friendly and nice. The restaurant at the old mill also has a wonderful atmosphere, and if you like special local french food as snails, truffles and goose liver, you will love the food. But are you a picky-eater teenager from Norway, there is absolutely no "normal" food to get anywhere. The menu at the mill is the only food to get around there. There is a small city, Condé, about 2 km away, but absolutely everything was closed when we were there. Luckily we had a rental car and could drive 7 more minutes to get to the next city where we found a very big supermarket with everything. The breakfast and the desserts at the mill were very good! I recommend this place highly and loved it there! ❤️

It is a very beautiful location. Quiet, quaint and so peaceful. We stayed at the Mill and although pleasant it felt a little worn. The bedrooms were nice but the pillows were the worst I've experienced -lumpy foam. The bathroom had a bath with a shower extension but the extension holder was at knee height and no shower curtain. So you can have a bath. If you want a shower then you can risk holding the shower extension and soaking the bathroom. The staff were pleasant but I didn't feel particularly welcome. Check the menu before you book and also restaurant availability. There isn't a vegetarian option and nothing for teens (they like it simple). If you don't eat in the restaurant then it is quite a drive to find alternatives. The breakfast is pricey and seemed to consist of a lot of bread and as a non gluten person we decided to have breakfast out. The weather was lovely and so we sat in the shade of the trees by the river and dipped in and out of the pool - this was a lovely afternoon. Overall I enjoyed our stay here. I feel it is pricey for what it is. Did I regret it? No. Would I come back? No.
