Domotel Xenia Volos

We stayed a Domotel Volos during a recent tour of Greece. Location right on the sea was great. Rooms were nice with a good view, and services at the hotel were great. Would highly recommend if visiting Volos.

The hotel is in an exceptional spot in Volos, with beautiful views all around! It's clear the hotel has a fantastic architectural heritage, a really great style from its original Xenia design. Our room is nice and comfortable with a breathtaking view! Though, you could tell that some areas are ready for a bit of a refresh. The staff are all so pleasant and so kind, smiling and eager to assist at all times. They make us feel very welcome. Breakfast is great too – lots of tasty choices! Overall, Domotel Xenia Volos is a gem with a wonderful history! With a little bit of updating, it would be absolutely perfect. Still a great place to stay if you’re visiting Volos. Highly recommend it for a relaxing and enjoyable trip!

So, it turns out that the hotel has an outdoor saltwater pool and the indoor freshwater pool is located inside the spa complex, so children cannot enter (it's a shame that no one said this in full disclosure). In terms of breakfast - very simple and poor (unlike hotels like in Athens or on the islands in southern Greece). The room smelled of mold and I had to buy an air freshener. The shower doesn't have a strong water flow at all. The hotel's day beach is very dirty and there are no places to sit in an organized manner (on the nearby beach everything is organized, clean and there are benches).
